Ecologist Nang Sehyun, who had been conducting her usual wildlife observations deep in the mountains from late autumn onward, comes across traces of poachers. While expressing her concern, she suddenly encounters Kang Jia. Mistaking her for a poacher, Sehyun attacks her with pepper spray, but Jia insists she is a licensed hunter authorized by the landowner to carry out pest control hunting. However, having tumbled down a mountain path, she lost the pouch containing her permit and means of contact, leaving no way to verify her identity.
Sehyun grows uneasy and suspicious of Jia’s true background. Since they are far from any cell towers, phone reception is poor, and it would take a full day on foot to reach the nearest village, she cannot simply send the injured Jia away. Reluctantly, she decides to let her stay until she recovers, though she continues to harbor doubts about her. As he resumes her wildlife observations, Jia begins tagging along at her side, gradually showing curiosity about her work.
